Ayesa set to implement a digital management platform for schools in Ceuta and Melilla
Ayesa, a global provider of technology and engineering services, is set to implement a digital management platform for schools in Ceuta and Melilla as part of a 1.8-million-euro contract with the Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.
The system, known as Fenicia, is an adaptation of Séneca, a platform created for the Regional Government of Andalusia and used for more than 22 years. Its purpose is to make the comprehensive management of schools possible, as well as allow families to access a whole host of information on pupils through any device.
To do this, it will feature modules for managing various kinds of schools (primary schools, secondary schools, vocational training colleges, official language schools, music schools and adult education colleges) from a financial and academic perspective. It will also have a range of other features, such as teacher training and data analysis and exploitation.
Adaptation and modernisation
As part of this contract, Ayesa will be responsible for adapting the Séneca system to the specific needs of schools in Ceuta and Melilla, as well for carrying out the necessary developments, implementing the solution and organising training. This includes the migration of data currently managed using other applications.
This new project has cemented Ayesa’s position as a leading consulting firm when it comes to digital platforms for the education sector. To date, it has been involved in modernising the management system of 19,309 schools (with a total of almost 300,000 teachers and 3,700,000 students) spread across twelve autonomous communities.
