Ayesa secures a 19-million-euro supervision contract involving three lines of the Monterrey Metro

Ayesa, a global technology and engineering services company, has been chosen to provide full supervision services for lines 4, 5 and 6 of the Monterrey Metro in Mexico. The 19.2-million euro contract, which has been awarded by the Government of the state of Nuevo León in conjunction with Metrorrey, covers the supervision of design and engineering work, in addition to construction, testing and commissioning.

According to the Public Works Award Support Committee, Ayesa submitted the strongest bid in terms of price, quality and financing, and was one of only three companies to fulfil all the technical criteria in place for the tender process.

Lines 4, 5 and 6 will add 41 kilometres to the Monterrey Metro, as well as change the way people travel around the city and revitalise the Integral Metropolitan Transport System. Moreover, 41 new stations will be created and the network will reach the area around the airport.

The project is part of the Transport Master Plan for the state of Nuevo León and will require a total investment of 1,300 million euros for construction.

Ayesa is one of the world’s biggest engineering companies (*43 ENR) and the third largest in Latin America, where it has been present for the past 20 years. In Mexico, it has participated in the country’s most significant infrastructure projects, such as the Atotonilco wastewater treatment plant, the Tren Maya, private-sector industrial facilities, prisons and highways.
