Ayesa will oversee the A-11 extension from Langa to Aranda de Duero
The new 22.3-kilometre section will cost EUR 180 million to construct.
Ayesa, a global provider of technology and engineering solutions, will oversee the extension of the A-11 between Langa and Aranda de Duero. The contract, awarded to Ayesa and a joint venture of GPYO Innova and Trechobs, includes consulting and technical assistance services. This project is part of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility, and Urban Agenda’s plan to extend the Autovía del Duero motorway and connect eastern and western Spain.
The General Directorate for Roads has awarded Ayesa the contract to oversee the €180.75 million construction project led by OHLA and ASCH Infraestructuras y Servicios.
The 22.3-kilometre motorway section will include four junctions, including one to the west in Langa de Duero, along with more than 30 overpasses and underpasses to maintain existing road connections.
Ayesa will ensure that construction work is carried out appropriately and meets all relevant quality and safety standards. The contract also covers the technical interpretation of the project, drafting necessary modifications or additional work, proposing alternative solutions to optimise the project, and providing technical support in key areas such as expropriation, archaeology, environment, demolition, quality control, geology, geotechnics, road surfaces, drainage, tunnels, structures, installations, health and safety, and road safety.
Highlights of the project include a 250-metre viaduct spanning the River Duero, the N-122 overpass, and the viaduct at the Langa de Duero junction. Ayesa will oversee the extension of the A-11, creating a direct link between Soria, Valladolid, Zamora, and the Portuguese border. The project is expected to bring significant social and economic benefits to the region, including enhanced road safety and shorter travel times.
This contract recognises Ayesa’s leadership in supervising large infrastructure projects in Spain.
‘Our team has decades of experience with high-complexity projects, ensuring that the highest standards are met throughout construction,’ said Álvaro Bravo, Head of Works Supervision and PMO.
