Ayesa Engineering will launch the first edition of its Master’s in Stadium Design in the next academic year, in collaboration with the University of Seville and leading industry partners such as Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos. Delivered at the iconic Royal Artillery Factory of Seville, the programme is designed to train professionals who will shape the next generation of sports infrastructure through an immersive, practice-led approach.

In recent years, stadiums have taken on growing strategic importance, driven by major international sporting events and global entertainment programmes that significantly impact local economies and enhance the international profile of cities. As demand rises worldwide for new stadiums and modernisation projects, there is an increasing need for highly specialised professionals capable of managing these complex infrastructures and integrating disciplines such as architectural design, structural engineering, and advanced technical systems.

The Master’s in Stadium Design, developed by Ayesa Engineering and the University of Seville—through its Higher Technical School of Architecture and Higher Technical School of Engineering—responds directly to this need. Aimed at architects, engineers, and infrastructure professionals, the programme covers the full lifecycle of stadium development through a methodology that combines design, engineering, sustainability, technological innovation, fan experience, and large-scale event management.

The partnership between the University of Seville and Ayesa Engineering bridges academic excellence in architecture and engineering with real-world expertise in major infrastructure delivery. “Participants will gain full immersion in the stadium ecosystem, learning directly from operators, practitioners, and specialists in technology, construction, and design,” explains Ignacio Hinojosa, Director of Transport and Cities at Ayesa Engineering and Programme Director of the Master’s in Stadium Design.

The programme has an international scope and will be delivered entirely in English from October 2026 to September 2027. Its blended format combines in-person sessions, practical workshops, collaboration with professionals across disciplines, technical visits to leading stadiums in Spain, and digital learning components—creating a truly experiential and immersive learning journey.

“Students benefit from direct engagement with professionals involved in complex, real-world projects, ensuring the programme remains closely aligned with the evolving needs of stadium design and management,” adds Hinojosa.

This inaugural edition brings together leading organisations in stadium design, construction, and operations, including Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos, professional associations, football clubs, stadium operators, and venue management organisations—ensuring continuous exposure to real project environments throughout the programme.
