Ayesa and TMB are set to supervise Line 1 of the Zaragoza Tramway
Ayesa, a global provider of technology and engineering services, and Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) will supervise and monitor the running of Line 1 of the Zaragoza Tramway, which was opened in 2011.
The joint venture formed by the two companies has been awarded the 447,700-euro technical assistance services contract. The line spans 12,8 kilometres in length and runs from north to south, passing through the centre and old town of Aragon’s capital city. It connects densely populated neighbourhoods such as La Romareda and Actur as well as districts such as Valdespartera and Parque Goya.
Ayesa and TMB’s combined experience and expertise in urban transport systems have been key to securing this contract, which has a duration of 24 months (although this can be extended).
Ayesa and TMB will create a team made up of different experts for the purpose of this project, which requires the various disciplines involved to be highly coordinated in order to effectively monitor the availability and quality of the service provided by the tram to the public.
Ayesa and TMB already have knowledge on this important infrastructure in the capital of Aragon, as they have provided technical assistance for operations since it was opened in February 2011.
