Construction begins on new Combined Court Centre, Designed by Ayesa

Alicante Combined Court Centre, a highly anticipated town planning and public service project in Valencia, has officially commenced construction, with Ayesa at the helm of its design.

The new Rafael Altamira Combined Court Centre, designed by Ayesa, is currently under construction in the Benalúa district of Alicante. This highly anticipated project is a major milestone for the city in terms of urban planning and public services. It will bring together ten courts that are currently spread out across the city, with Ayesa providing construction management services as well as designing the entire complex.

During the presentation of the plans for the Rafael Altamira Combined Court Centre, the event was presided over by Ximo Puig, the President of the Regional Government of Valencia. Ayesa’s Director of Construction, Daniel Herrera, was also in attendance and spoke about how the new building will consolidate the courts into one location, improving the delivery of judicial services to the city’s 400,000 inhabitants.

The new Rafael Altamira Combined Court Centre will occupy an area of around 50,000 square meters and is estimated to cost 76 million euros. Its completion is expected towards the end of 2025. Ayesa’s design for the building aims to seamlessly integrate it into the surrounding urban environment. The building will be situated around a large central square and will include green areas and openings to the outside, thereby enhancing its accessibility and integration with the surroundings.

BIM Methodology

Ayesa integrates BIM technology and virtual reality into their large-scale construction and infrastructure projects. Although these technologies were not initially included in the project scope, their implementation has allowed clients to gain a better understanding of the building during early phases and enabled frequent virtual inspections. Moreover, this technology has improved coordination among different departments, minimized the probability of construction errors and enhanced the tracking of future maintenance.

Ayesa’s Experience

Ayesa has recently completed the design of the Córdoba Combined Court Centre, a distinctive building that has received several architecture awards. The design was inspired by the city’s Moorish heritage.
