Ayesa undertakes an innovative asset management pilot project at its head office

The aim is to develop a prototype based on innovative solutions that can be used by other companies.

BIM, SAP BNAC and GridPilot will be used to gather information on assets and create metadata.

Ayesa is currently undertaking a PACE (acceleration) project at the Alía Building, the company’s head office in Seville. The aim is to develop an innovative prototype that allows Ayesa as well as potential clients to manage their assets in a comprehensive manner.

The initial phase, which is now under way, will see various projects, past and present, brought together on a single platform.

Initially, virtual reality (VR) technology was used to create use cases for visiting Alía’s offices. This allows users to explore the site remotely and communicate via voice chat whilst doing so.

The existing BIM model for the office has also been improved, with new features such as the solar panels on its roof being added.

Following this, real-time information on the photovoltaic installation was collected, using the BNAC (Business Network Asset Collaboration) SAP module and GridPilot.

The final step will be the development of a SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). This will bring together all information on all the building’s assets, integrate the VR experience, and be used to create the relevant metadata.

Lucía Ortega, Project Lead, explains: ‘This comprehensive asset management solution will allow us to establish a dialogue with potential clients by offering them real, practical solutions’. Subsequent phases of the project will see the range of assets expanded and new use cases developed.

The initiative offers a number of clear benefits, such as creating synergy between existing solutions as well as drawing on innovative tools that may be of use to other companies seeking to become more competitive.
