NAMA (Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions) study for sustainable transport

Where national climate policy and transport are concerned, Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) are of particular importance. Here, it is important to prioritise the funding of potential projects and programmes which can be carried out in the shortest possible time-span and are likely to have the greatest impact in terms of national priorities in this area.

Within this context, our work here saw us identify priority projects and programmes based on a set of basic criteria, namely environmental impact, comprehensive analysis of framework conditions with a particular emphasis on financial conditions (co-financing within the context of binational cooperation between Germany and Mexico) as well as legal and institutional conditions, social and political feasibility, social benefits and urban development (going beyond public transport).
