Learning management platform (Moodle)
- Client: EUCCB
- Country: Spain
- Year: 2022
- Applied technologies: Moodle
Challenge
Revolutionizing Learning Experiences, engagement and community through an autonomous collaborative learning platform called Moodle.
The EUCCB, also known as the Cámarabilbao University Business School, is a university center officially affiliated with the Bilbao Chamber of Commerce and is attached to the University of the Basque Country.
For the past decade, Ayesa, through Ibermática, has been responsible for continuously implementing and upgrading the learning management platform (Moodle) as needs change and ensuring optimum stakeholder use. However, the school now required the platform to update autonomously.
Solution
The Project was named The Learning Office and it aims to provide a specialized support service that offers the necessary tools, mechanisms, and methodology for managing and implementing the EUCCB learning system.
The solution involved several tasks, including designing the necessary processes for managing Moodle, installing, customizing, and maintaining the platform, and embedding support for these tasks through the management of commitments, communication plans, training plans, measurement, analysis, and verification of use.
Additionally, the project involved maintaining and updating Moodle and migrating the platform to the EUCCB infrastructure, as well as conducting an After Action Review analysis to technically support and improve learning management. Our team also updated the Moodle version to include social, mobility and gamification functionalities and a better UX and design to provide optimum engagement and integration of the community of students and alumni with the platform
Benefits
The management team has fostered a commendable collaborative work dynamic by efficiently coordinating various training processes with both the EUCCB teaching team and the Ibermática and Ayesa project team. These processes are regularly monitored through their respective indicators to gauge progress and identify areas for improvement in the eLearning system’s evolution. Moodle has played a crucial role in facilitating communication and collaboration between teachers, students, and management at the EUCCB, leading to more efficient document management.
The platform’s flexibility has enabled seamless integration with the face-to-face learning format, and it is widely used by all parties with dedicated support. Additionally, the adoption of automated administrative and academic procedures has resulted in enhanced efficiency gains. With an affordable development cost, the technological solution can be further leveraged to digitize additional procedures.
