Introducing GRIAR: transforming a tax management system for La Rioja

Challenge
The Regional Government of La Rioja collects EUR 1.7 billion in taxes annually and needed a modern solution to manage this revenue efficiently.
Solution
Ayesa was award a €2 million contract to develop the La Rioja Regional Resource and Revenue Management System (GRIAR), a comprehensive tax management platform. The GRIAR system boasts several key features designed to streamline tax management. It includes a public portal that allows residents to handle their taxes online, and a back office for administrative and management tasks. The system provides full tax coverage, handling property transfer, inheritance, gift tax, and regional taxes. It is also designed for integration with other tax management systems, ensuring seamless operation. Additionally, GRIAR facilitates local tax handling, managing revenue collected by town and city halls where this responsibility is delegated.
The GRIAR system builds on Ayesa’s experience with the SUR system for Andalusia, ensuring a robust, transparent, and adaptable solution. It incorporates the latest technology for seamless deployment, maintenance, and updates, enhancing communication and compliance with evolving legal requirements.
