Ayesa to provide owner engineering services for Eni’s biggest solar complex to date
The works are expected to be completed this year, and from that point, the mega photovoltaic installation will generate 660 GWh annually.
Ayesa, a global provider of engineering and technology solutions, has been selected by Plenitude, a company controlled by ENI, to carry out all the owner’s engineering for what will be the largest solar complex to date for the Italian energy company, located in Badajoz. The Renopool project will add 330 megawatts (MW) of power and will be managed by Plenitude’s subsidiary.
The owner’s engineering services are being provided by Ayesa’s Energy and Industrial Facilities division and include all technical support tasks for Plenitude to ensure compliance with contractual requirements regarding quality, price, and timeline in the construction of the installation, which will be carried out by Sacyr, OHLA, and the Sarpel group.
The works are expected to be completed this year, and from that point, the mega photovoltaic installation will generate 660 GWh annually.
Spain, and especially Extremadura, is leading the European photovoltaic market. In 2023, the country added a record 5,594 MW of photovoltaic solar power, solidifying its position as a leader in renewable energy. In fact, renewable generation now accounts for 50.3% of the national electricity production.
Ayesa’s global Energy Division is currently carrying out EPC design reviews and construction supervision work as owner’s engineering for 24 different plants for leading international clients in countries such as Spain, Colombia, Poland, and Portugal, among others.
