Ayesa implements ‘IB Building 365’ at FHIMASA as part of its digital transformation strategy

Ibermática’s comprehensive ERP solution is specifically designed for the construction industry and is based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Ayesa, a global provider of technology and engineering services, has completed the digital transformation of FHIMASA’s internal processes by implementing IB Building 365, Ibermática’s complete ERP solution designed specifically for the construction industry and based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The milestone comes after the introduction by the construction company of methodologies and technology such as BIM, IoT, big data and augmented reality in its processes.

In an increasingly digital world, construction firms are required to constantly adapt to the latest technology if they are to be efficient, sustainable and competitive. FHIMASA’s digital transformation has radically changed the way it works and has increased its ability to meet the challenges posed by the market by introducing a series of significant improvements to its operations.

Process automation

One of the main benefits of these changes has been the optimisation and automation of the company’s internal processes, which allows data to be recorded on the ground in real time, thereby giving it greater control over its operations and meaning more effective decision-making. This provides the company with an overview of its work, therefore allowing it to better track its projects and optimise the use of available resources.

The ERP solution brings together all areas of FHIMASA, including everything from project management and purchasing through to accounting, human resources, cost control and invoicing. By automating many of the tasks carried out by the company, it has resulted in much greater levels of efficiency and far fewer human errors.

Having access to up-to-date data and analyses in real time has vastly improved FHIMASA’s ability to quickly adapt to changes in the market and make the most of opportunities as they emerge.

The platform allows staff working at construction sites to use the latest technology to upload accurate data on the ground. This has meant a significant improvement in terms of the reliability of data and gives the company a complete and up-to-date overview of all its operations in real time, thereby helping it make more informed decisions as well as better manage its resources.

Other notable benefits

  • More efficient project management: IB Building 365 allows FHIMASA to manage its projects more effectively, including aspects relating to planning, allocating resources, tracking tasks and cost control. This enables it to ensure its work is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Data-driven decision-making and analysis: Digitalising construction projects involves a vast amount of data being generated, which can be subsequently analysed and used for strategic decision-making. IB Building 365 also allows detailed reports on performance, costs, productivity and other key indicators to be created, information that can be used to identify trends, detect areas for improvement and make informed decisions in order to optimise the use of resources and increase the efficiency of operations.
  • Mobile access and a collaborative working environment: All the main features offered by IB Building 365 can be used through an app featuring a user-friendly interface. This gives FHIMASA access to a wealth of information and allows it to work remotely in a collaborative manner, something that is particularly useful for those on the ground.

Moreover, it has helped the company strengthen relations with its clients and suppliers by allowing it to improve the way everyone involved in its construction projects communicates with one another and works together. This has resulted in greater customer satisfaction and a more efficient supply chain. Ultimately, IB Building 365 has meant reduced response times, increased coordination between teams and a better service for FHIMASA’s clients.

Rubén Fernández Luna, Head of Business Development and Innovation at FHIMASA, notes: ‘the digitalisation of construction projects has meant a significant change in the way data is managed. Previously, we depended on paper records and had to record information by hand. However, thanks to digitalisation, staff now enter data on a mobile device, something that reduces the risk of human error as well as ensures data is accurate and up to date. What’s more, it has improved the way teams communicate with one another and work together. Data recorded on the ground is uploaded to the system in real time, meaning greater transparency as well as quicker and more effective decision-making. Management staff, for their part, are able to monitor the progress of a project in real time. This allows them to identify deviations or issues and take the appropriate measures to get the project back on track. The implementation of IB Building 365 has been a real game changer for FHIMASA. It has ultimately enabled us to improve the efficiency of our operations as well as have a much better overview of our work, meaning a better service for our clients’.
