A comprehensive cybersecurity solution for Egile
- Client: EGILE
- Year: 2020
- Country: Spain
- Applied technologies: SOC | CERT
Challenge
Egile is a high-precision mechanics firm. It manufactures aeronautical components and systems for engine manufacturers, OEMs and platform manufacturers, and develops high-value mechanical solutions for the defence, science, space, photolithography and particle therapy industries, as well as complete easy-open end systems for the metal packaging sector.
As such, as part of its strategy to enhance its cybersecurity, it required an advanced SOC service provided through a CERT (computer emergency response team) and CSIRT (computer security incident response team), able to provide it not only with the necessary advice for implementing appropriate protection measures, but also identify and mitigate any potential threat that may jeopardise the availability, integrity or confidentiality of the information contained on its systems.
Solution
The SOC/CERT centre created by Ibermática an Ayesa Company provides Egile with 24×7 monitoring, warning, detection, incident management and response services in order to avoid disruptions to its operations. Furthermore, Unit 71, Ibermática’s threat intelligence team, provides it with an early warning service, thereby allowing it to keep up to date with potential threats facing the industrial sector, as well as with new campaigns, techniques and tactics in the world of cybercrime. Unit 71 also informs it of measures it may implement to minimise potential risks.
The service has also seen Ayesa create an action plan featuring tactical and strategic recommendations prioritised by amount of work involved and criticality.
Benefits
In terms of the benefits offered by the solution, it has ultimately allowed Egile to increase the maturity of its IT/OT cybersecurity environment. Moreover, having a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy in place enables the firm to be aware of threats, weaknesses and incidents at all times, and respond more quickly, efficiently and effectively to them, in addition to having greater control over and increasing the traceability of its systems and data.
