Ibermática Fundazioa, through its Ibermática Innovation Institute (I3B), has recently joined BAIDATA, an association dedicated to promoting data sovereignty and the data economy across the Iberian Peninsula. The organization’s mission is to connect European data spaces with the public-private ecosystems that make up regional spaces.
For over 18 years, I3B has provided cutting-edge ICT solutions and services, participating in numerous R&D initiatives related to data spaces in the Basque Country, as well as on national and European levels.
By joining BAIDATA, Ibermática Fundazioa will gain access to key publications from organizations like IDSA, DSSC, Gaia-X, the European Commission, and BAIDATA itself. Additionally, it will have opportunities to participate in training and accreditation programs, and benefit from tools, resources, and infrastructure designed to create, utilize, and collaborate within data spaces.
“We’re eager to contribute our expertise to the various working groups and this will open doors to exciting collaborations, partnerships, and business opportunities in this field, including European projects,” says the I3B team.
BAIDATA, founded in 2021, is committed to fostering the development of the data economy and advancing AI integration in the Basque Country’s industrial sector. Its core focus is promoting data sovereignty by helping companies build shared data spaces. Members range from startups to large enterprises, receiving support in four key areas: talent, knowledge, ecosystems, and innovation.
