Ayesa migrates business processes of 50 companies from colombian energy group ISA to the Cloud

The multinational has implemented SAP RISE to streamline operations and reduce database size by nearly 70%.

Ayesa, a global provider of technology and engineering services, has successfully migrated all business processes of ISA — a Colombian company specializing in energy, telecommunications, and infrastructure — to the cloud using SAP RISE. This strategic move has enabled the Latin American group to modernize its technological platform, providing greater flexibility to scale and efficiently manage its various business areas across the six countries where it operates.

With a track record spanning over 50 years, ISA needed to modernize its SAP technology platforms, which support the operational processes of its nearly 50 companies distributed across Colombia, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, and Panama. To achieve this, the company selected Ayesa as its strategic technology partner to migrate its four platforms (BW4, BPC, ERP, and FIORI) from an on-premise infrastructure to a cloud-based SAP RISE solution. This was carried out in a phased and integrated manner with various legacy systems, resulting in a more efficient, modern platform that positively impacts more than 3,000 users.

The benefits were immediate. In addition to modernizing its technological infrastructure in line with its growth and digital transformation strategy, ISA has enhanced its decision-making capabilities and reduced the size of its database by nearly 70% through a native compression process. This was achieved by migrating from Oracle to HANA and implementing an archiving strategy to offload historical data. Furthermore, the migration has strengthened security, improved operational efficiency, and enhanced the financial sustainability of its solutions across all countries in which ISA operates.

This migration has enabled ISA to advance in operational excellence and competitiveness, reduce the time and cost associated with managing its platforms, and lay the groundwork to stay at the forefront of technological advancements within the SAP ecosystem.
