Ayesa Engineering contributes to the advancement of Project Management in Spain, in partnership with AEDIP

Joins the Spanish Association for Integrated Project Management to Share Its Experience and Expertise in the Sector.

Ayesa Engineering has officially joined the Spanish Association for Integrated Project Management (AEDIP) with the aim of contributing to the development of Project Management in Spain. The company seeks to share the extensive experience and knowledge it has accumulated over nearly sixty years of activity in the sector.

Through this collaboration, AEDIP will benefit from Ayesa’s proven track record and the expertise of its professionals, whose success stories can serve as benchmarks for future clients and organizations interested in professionalizing the management of their construction projects, thereby optimizing their outcomes. Among other areas, the multinational will contribute its expertise in applying Lean methodologies to construction project management—an area in which it is recognized as an international leader.

One of its most recent projects in this field is linked to the construction of the new Alcañiz Hospital, a facility that modernizes healthcare delivery in the Bajo Aragón region. The project replaces outdated infrastructure, addresses increasing demand, and reduces the need for patient transfers to Zaragoza or Teruel.

Designed with energy efficiency in mind and supported by new access infrastructure, the hospital reflects Aragón’s strategic commitment to a sustainable, high-quality public healthcare system that promotes balanced territorial development in historically underserved areas. The facility includes 162 beds distributed across 104 rooms and features 9 operating theatres, significantly enhancing capacity and the range of available services.

Ayesa delivered Lean construction management services through a multi-package contracting strategy. The project was completed with a 9% cost saving compared to the initial budget and was delivered one month ahead of schedule. It was awarded First Prize at the KOBAH 2024 Awards in the Large-Scale Lean Construction Projects category.

Benefits for Ayesa

For Ayesa, becoming a member of AEDIP represents closer access to project news and business opportunities at both the national and international levels. It also helps the company stay up to date with the ongoing changes shaping the sector. Indeed, evolving demand continuously reshapes services, which—alongside technological innovation—brings new approaches to achieving higher client satisfaction.

José Gil, Secretary General of AEDIP, stated: “We are pleased to welcome Ayesa, a true benchmark in engineering and Project Management in our country. Ayesa’s commitment to Lean Construction and collaborative contracting further strengthens our mission to promote new approaches to project delivery.”

Miguel Tapia, Director of Ayesa’s Real Estate Division, commented: “It is an honor to take this important step and contribute to the sector by promoting best practices in project management for all types of infrastructure”.
