Third line of Cutzamala system

This hydraulic system is one of the ten most significant worldwide, due to the distance it travels, the height it has to overcome and the volume of water it supplies. It is spread across the states of Michoacán, Estado de México and Mexico City and is comprised of seven diversion and storage dams. It contributes 25% of water for consumption in the Valley of Mexico.

Ayesa has participated in its construction, with the supervision of the works of Sections 1 and 2, corresponding to the third drinking water pipeline.

Unique characteristics:

  • Topographical mapping of the line with the location of the axis of the aqueduct, including the access roads and the distance to the harnessing areas.
  • Survey and recording of pipe conditions.
  • Existing structures and hydraulic structure.
  • Analysis and drafting of social care and citizenship protocol.
  • Supervision of pipe quality and welding.
  • Updating plans referring to each of the sections.
  • Monthly informative report of the variations in the physical and financial progress of the works.
  • Ledgers containing routes, minutes, agreements and subcontractors.
  • Supervision of the working programme, works' budget, works' progress, rules of occupational health and safety and the actions of environmental monitoring.
