The first line of the Lucknow Metropolitan Railway runs along the northbound-southbound line corridor and will have 22 stations, three of these located underground. Its construction will be carried out in two phases. This contract corresponds to the first of them, with a length of 8.4 kilometres and 10 stations.
Lucknow is the capital of the state of Uttar Pradesh, located north of India. According to the forecasts, during its first year of operation it will have a demand of 430,000 daily passengers that will reach up to one million by year 2030. Once completed the Lucknow Metropolitan Railway will become the fastest and most economical transportation system in India.
