Photovoltaic in airports

Spanish airports are introducing savings and efficiency measures. Within the section on energy, they are backing the installation of photovoltaic panels for self-consumption.

Ayesa has carried out the basic and detailed engineering of four installations in the largest terminals in the country, such as those in Madrid (terminals 1, 2 and 3), Barcelona and Menorca. In total, these account for 13 megawatts.

These facilities have several peculiarities owing to being inside airport enclosures. One of them is that they require plates with a low reflection index to avoid glare.
