Land survey for a 2000 ha wind farm in the State of Oaxaca

The Isthmus of Tehuantepec, State of Oaxaca, Mexico

The land surveying process for the wind farm in the State of Oaxaca was carried out in the following way. First of all, aerial photographs were taken on clear days with a Vexcel digital camera, stereoscopically covering an area of 2,000 ha.

Following this, GPS vertices were established to carry out analytic aero-triangulation and geo-reference the aerial photographs, which were then linked to the National Active network of INEGI (the National Statistics and Geography Institute) in order to obtain the geographical coordinates and then transform them into UTM coordinates.

Using the aerial photographs and data from ground support, analytic aero-triangulation at AU4 photogrammetric stations was carried out and applied to the Match-AT programme.

Digital restitution was carried out at AU4 photogrammetric stations, plotting all the identifiable planimetric details on the aerial photographs and plotting contour lines every 50cm as the area is level.

Once restitution was completed, the digital files were obtained and transformed into DXF and DWG files for editing.  
Once this has been done, an important point is the revision of the planimetry, altimetry and the hydrography, these being verified through field revisions to ensure the correct interpretation and location of data.

A continuación se establecieron vértices GPS para realizar la aerotriangulación analítica y georreferenciar las fotografías aéreas, los cuales se ligaron a la red Nacional Activa del INEGI para obtener las coordenadas geográficas y posteriormente transformarlas a coordenadas UTM.

Utilizando las fotografías aéreas y los datos del apoyo terrestre se realizó la aerotriangulación analítica en estaciones fotogramétricas AU4 y aplicando en programa Match-AT.

La restitución digital se realizó en estaciones fotogramétricas AU4 trazando todos los detalles planimétricos identificables en las fotografías aéreas y trazando curvas de nivel cada 50 cm ya que la zona es plana.

Una vez realizada la restitución se obtuvieron los archivos digitales y se transformaron a DXF y DWG para su edición. Un punto importante una vez realizado esto, es la revisión de la planimetría, altimetría e hidrografía contrastándola mediante revisiones de campo para asegurar la correcta interpretación y ubicación de datos.
