Health and Well-being in Extremadura

AYESA has taken part in important projects for the Regional Ministry of Health and Social Policy, as well as for the Service of Promotion of Self Autonomy and Dependent Adult Care of Extremadura (SEPAD).

All developments carried out on JAVA portals and applications have followed the MADES (Framework for the Development and Maintenance of Applications) methodology, an idea which AYESA also helped design, and in which the procedures for the management and monitoring of Projects are specified, as well as technical instructions to follow in developments.

The Extremadura Health Portal currently offers a considerable range of assistance mechanisms. These go beyond offering mere statistical and dynamic assistance, also comprising processes which are very important for the public such as making appointments, consulting information related to health cards, and subscription to health notification services, for example vaccination campaigns for minors. Given all of the above, it is clear that the 24 hour a day Health Portal makes for a genuine Virtual Health Centre, and that is the main image of the Government of Extremadura for the companies in the healthcare sector.

In view of the different portals made available by the Regional Ministry of Health and Social Policy, and making use the technology of the Health Portal of Extremadura, a corporative platform of portals was created using open source Liferay technology. Hence, the corporative platform will include the Saludteca Portal, which essentially operates in the same way as an extensive electronic library on Healthcare Quality, and is also available on mobile devices.

The SEPAD Portal which represents the institutional portal of the organisation, displays information about all the services and resources offered by SEPAD.

The Corporative Geographical Information System of this Regional Ministry, optimises the updating of geographical information related to healthcare resources and integrates the various layers of information into the Spatial Data Infrastructure of Extremadura (IDEEX). It provides a means of consulting, via a website with thematic maps, various aspects of interest in the area of health for the Autonomous Community of Extremadura.

The main aim of the "ARBio" Notification System for Accidental Exposure to Biological Risk in the workplace is to help the prevention services in controlling and monitoring workers who are exposed to biological agents in the workplace and suffer accidental exposure and who must undergo subsequent check-ups.

PRELED is one of the most crucial systems of SEPAD. It was implemented by AYESA in 2009 and has since been maintained and has evolved in such a way that it has become the most important information system of the organisation.

PRELED is a tool used for the processing and management of assistance (of environments and other related material) derived from the Law on the Promotion of Personal Autonomy and Assistance for people in circumstances of dependence, for the Regional Government of Extremadura.

Finally, AYESA has updated the Regional Ministry's control panel, developed under Pentaho, in which it has incorporated data to analyse the portals and associated processes and enable appropriate decisions to be taken to improve the services provided.
