Mercado de abastos de Nervión en Sevilla

Ayesa was responsible for designing a new farmers’ market in the Seville neighbourhood of Nervión.

The building has four floors and a courtyard on the first floor to ensure natural ventilation and light reaches the offices in the market building.

The design for the market was traditional with the sizes of stalls and aisles, as well as their allocation, all fully complying with current legislation.

The market, which belongs to members of the cooperative of the Nervión Market, was a real challenge for Ayesa in terms of ensuring all the stalls were equally accessible to customers. This resulted in designing stalls side-by-side along the dividing wall and a central island with two side aisles where customers move along.
