The Kursaal Theatre is housed in a modern and multipurpose building and boasts the most modern stage equipment.
As the promoter of this project, the Autonomous City of Melilla entrusted Ayesa with the expansion, refurbishment and renovation project for the theatre’s facilities and architecture together, together with the company Consultoría Técnica de Escénicas García Diéguez Consulting S.L.
The Kursaal Theatre in Melilla has 766 seats, which are divided into three distinct areas - the central stalls, the side stalls and the circle. It also has a rehearsal hall with room to hold up to 100 people. This multipurpose space is used for cultural and social events.
Furthermore, as part of the renovation work, the theatre’s original facade was restored, this having been designed by the modernist architect Enrique Nieto in 1930 as a symbol of the city’s architectural heritage.
