This project involved project management, technical assistance and supervision services for the design, construction, operations and maintenance of the wastewater collection, transport and treatment system for the districts of Arraiján and La Chorrera in Panama. This initiative aimed to provide a solution to the sewage and wastewater treatment needs of both districts. The aim was to create an extensive sewage network that would flow into the Caimito River WWTP in order to be subsequently discharged near to the mouth of the river. As Ayesa was responsible for project management, we organised the tender process for the various works packages and supervised construction by the contractors, including commissioning.
The scope of our work was to produce the construction specifications to allow work to be put out for tender based on the formula: construction + operations and maintenance (3 years). All the teams used BIM methodology by way of a number of applications, including Revit and Plant 3D. The main requirements involved were that the facilities had to be modular, well integrated in their environment and energy efficient, as well as fully comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
