- Client: FRV
- Country: Spain
- Year: 2021
- Applied technologies: Cloud computing | AWS | SharePoint
Challenge
FRV is a global leader in complete clean and renewable energy solutions, which aims to reach 5 GWp in installed capacity by 2025.
It has experience around the world, including in India, Australia, Brazil, Uruguay and Mexico.
Over recent years, the company has been focused on maximising energy performance and competitiveness by ensuring its solutions are the most sustainable, represent the best value for money, and are within the reach of all clients, investors and governments.
This goal is in line with its decision to adapt to the digital era and digitalise its processes, a key part of which is the migration of its IT systems to the cloud.
Solution
Ayesa is the technology partner chosen to accompany FRV on its journey of digital transformation.
The first step was to migrate its systems to the cloud, a crucial part of its digitalisation process, as this provides the framework needed to support the rest of its solutions.
Amongst these is SharePoint, which allows for effective teamwork, and OneDrive, which has increased the efficiency with which the company’s staff carry out their work.
The cloud service chosen by FRV is Amazon Web Services (AWS), which Ibermática an Ayesa Company manages remotely under a pay-per-use model.
Benefits
As a result of the solution implemented, FRV has improved the efficiency of its processes and increased its flexibility, something that allows it to easily establish operations in new countries, expand its storage capacity as and when needed, and create new systems, servers and users, to name just a few benefits. This has ultimately reduced its time to market.
In addition to installing solar parks, FRV also offers asset maintenance and management services, meaning the systems used for monitoring, analytics and Industry 4.0 have also been migrated to the cloud.
As a result of the new solution, staff at FRV can now work remotely on a project or file at the same time, something that is particularly important for efficient and effective analysis.
Lastly, AWS will allow FRV to improve its SAP response times and thus the performance of its applications.
