Ayesa’s projects involving commercial systems for utilities companies and HR systems for public administrations achieve CMMI Level 3

Ayesa, the international engineering and technology consulting firm has been awarded CMMI Level 3 for all its development and maintenance projects involving commercial systems for utilities companies and HR systems for public administrations, as well as its software factory.

Ayesa has extensive experience in these fields, in which it has undertaken numerous projects for major energy companies and public administrations in Spain and around the world. This achievement is yet another step forward in the firm’s efforts to standardise its software development process through defined processes which allow it to carry out its projects with maximum efficiency.

The set of best practices established by CMMI provides a clear roadmap for building, improving and benchmarking capability, as well as a tool for having tight control over processes by effectively planning, managing and analysing them.

Level 3 awarded by the CMMI Institute indicates that projects involve defined and documented processes which are subject to metrics (i.e., objective data) to ensure all the objectives set out for each technological project are achieved.

The main advantages are increased visibility in terms of projects, as each member of the team knows exactly what they are working on, as well as the status of the project; enhanced communication, planning and monitoring; and the early detection of errors.

‘This achievement is a clear reflection of Ayesa’s commitment to continuous improvement, involving an organisation-wide vision and quantitative management model, which allows it to monitor, control and optimise its processes. The ultimate goal is to increase the quality of our products and services and, therefore, level of customer satisfaction’, notes Germán del Real, Managing Director of the Knowledge Technology Area.

Ayesa’s software factory was also awarded CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) Maturity Level 5 in 2018.

This certification from the CMMI Institute, a US organisation, is the most prestigious of its kind internationally for application and software development companies. Only a small number of companies around the world, and a dozen in Spain, have been awarded this level to date.
