Ayesa continues to expand in Latin America with a new contract for the Santiago Metro in Chile

The company will provide specialized consultancy services for a complex platform screen door installation project on Line 1.

Ayesa, a global provider of engineering and technology services, has been selected by Metro de Santiago de Chile to deliver specialized consultancy services for the installation of platform screen doors on Line 1. This contract, to be executed in collaboration with Metro de Barcelona, further strengthens Ayesa’s position as a strategic partner in railway projects across Latin America.

The project marks a significant milestone, not only due to the technical complexity involved in working on the oldest and busiest line in the network, but also because of the direct impact it will have on the safety, efficiency, and overall travel experience of the millions of passengers who use this transport system daily.

Ayesa’s specialized consultancy will cover the entire execution cycle—from detailed engineering, manufacturing, and factory testing to system integration, installation, and commissioning. The scope of work includes technical support in key areas such as electrical systems, platform screen doors, CBTC signaling, rolling stock, communications (CCTV, public address, TETRA), system interfaces and integration, as well as operational and maintenance aspects.

“The awarding of this contract is a recognition of our expertise in technically demanding projects and reinforces our commitment to developing safer and more efficient transport infrastructure throughout Latin America”, stated Mariluz Ramírez, Director of the LATAM Transport Division at Ayesa.

With this new assignment, Ayesa adds another metro project to its portfolio in Chile, where it has already been involved in the technical inspection of systems for the extension of Line 3, civil works on sections 2, 3, and 4 of Line 7, and specialized consultancy for the future Line 9 of the Santiago Metro.

Regionally, Ayesa has a strong track record in the railway sector, with projects in the metros of Bogotá, Panama City, Quito, Lima, Santo Domingo, and Monterrey—solidifying its position as a benchmark in the planning, design, management, and supervision of urban transport systems.
