Design for the enlargement of the Sevilla Convention Centre (FIBES)

Facilities for a new auditorium, exhibition area and car park

Seville, Spain

Opening: july 2012

Ayesa has designed the facilities of a group of four buildings, used mainly for exhibitions (Conference Building/Auditorium, Multipurpose Building and Exhibition Building) and car park.

The exhibition buildings and car park are built from scratch and are placed in a plot of land annexed to the existing buildings. Together, they form the current facilities of the Sevilla Convention Centre (FIBES). The car park has four underground floors, with an interior courtyard that provides all the floors with natural light.

Two new power station transformers are designed for the exhibition buildings and one for the car park, with a total installed power of 6,000 KVA.

Total cooling capacity of 4,000,000 frig/h, centralised cooling production with two equal plants of 1,800 kW each and a plant of 216 kW. Furthermore, the condensation is carried out with three cooling towers placer on the rooftop.

A decentralised system will independently supply the areas of continuous use with power.

Heating is provided through three high performance natural gas boilers of 1,000 kW each. Two of the will operate in series and the third one is spare, with their corresponding heat exchangers.

The rest of the fire protection, plumbing and drainage facilities and special facilities have been designed in order to provide these spaces with the high standard features required by such an important building.
